Hello, GO LEAFS GO!
Patty

Tuesday, May 4th, 2004

Hi Patty, it was a tough loss for the Leafs tonight.  It is surprising how many Leaf fans come out of the woodwork here in Victoria when the Canucks are no longer around.  With time off for greiving and loss, this part of the country is joining the Calgary bandwagon!  Go FLAMES!

Aunt Patty I have fond memories of seeing you on the Miramichi in late April in recent years - I am instead opting to visit the river in early July this year to try my luck with the first run of bright salmon.  I was thinking we are due for a Douglastown breakfast ! (If you are in the neighbourhood) :-)

Please keep Mark's babies in your prayers. Patrick and Mathew have both returned to hospital as they have contracted a bad cold. Mathew is really struggling.

Also, Aunt Eleanor (Joey's wife) had a heart attack this week. I understand she is doing fairly well.

I hope I have better news to report next time.

Saturday

This is sad news....best to Patrick and Mathew and hope Aunt Eleanor is doing okay.

Victoria is starting to spring to life with all of the tourists - the cruise ships have begun stopping by and the population downtown suddenly swells out of the blue by a few thousand.  I saw two ships docked this am.  They look like floating apartment buildings on their sides.  As of the May long weekend, the tourist traffic from the ferries really kicks in and then you spend a few months avoiding downtown all together.    John (a local..:-)

Hi Everyone,

Just to let everyone know....Mom is doing fine (Eleanor) and she has some test coming up this week.  They are still trying to rule out angina.  We all hope that it is just her cholecystitis or just reflux.  She goes friday for her cardiac scan.  I will write again when I have more news.  Bonnie

Hope everything will be okay Bonnie.  Welcome to the Gill Net Lodge!  There is a rule that people who post for the first time have to post at a minimum once a week for at least a month!  :-)

Hi everyone,

I am off to Sasktoon tomorrow morning for a conference.  I will be staying there until the morning of the 2nd and then am renting a car to drive to Edmonton to see JoAnn.  It should be a real adventure.  I am not sure where everyone lives these days, so if any of you are in the area, I am staying at the Delta in Sasktoon and would love to have a coffee (or something stronger).  All the best....ME
